The campus is so beautiful, honestly I'm surprised it's not voted one of the most beautiful campuses in the country (or maybe it is). Some of them are very nice but others are convinced they are teaching at Harvard. On the other hand, I find the male professors here have really big egos. I truly felt like I learned a lot and have already used so much of what I've learned in my real life. I have nothing but good things to say about them. The female professors here are outstanding.

I've had such an incredible experience with a majority of the faculty I've encountered/had class with. It's totally fine if that's what you want but just keep that in mind. I'd say if you were willingly choosing a degree where you have to read and write all the time you are probably a bit more studious than let's say the business and sports management majors. I'm an English major so most of my peers in my classes were a bit more serious. If you're looking for a more serious and studious student body this isn't the school for you. Also a lot of these students come from BIG money so they really don't care if they flunk or pass. The truth is, most students are probably deemed "rude" but it's just how we were raised. If you aren't used to people from Jersey or New York you will most likely not have a good experience here. Keep in mind that upperclass man will most likely have to live off campus as they do not have enough housing for all 4 years.Īs I stated, a majority of the student body is from up north. They technically have three commuter lots but only two are strictly for commuters if you don't count that the first two floors are for faculty. If I were you I'd leave two hours because parking isn't great either. You will sit bumper to bumper no matter what time of day so make sure if you do commute you are leaving at least an hour before class. Most students are from up north here (which I'll get back to) and we're used to traffic but this, well this is a different kind of traffic. I wanted to live off campus but man-oh-man is it the worst traffic you'll ever experience in your life. I'm an older student who transferred so my experience may be different than most. NU exceeds its stellar reputation (.the HS students know this buzz more than their parents) - but it's more than buzz: NU delivers. I wasn't fully convinced at the time but now I am.

With specular SAT and GPA scores, he was accepted at top universities (including Ivy) and received 3/4 to full academic scholarships at most state universities but my adult-child only had one school in mind: NU.

When my adult-child was visiting campuses during his HS senior year, he was frankly uninterested until he visited NU. NU is not cheap, but, for my adult-child, it has been life altering. International campuses and co-op education experiences are the hallmark(s) of NU's education whether it's experience(s) in government service or bio-engineering and technology. Nonetheless, students who are admitted experience a modern global perspective of higher education which some universities have attempt to replicate but, thus far, have not done so successfully to NU's level it is the future.

Sadly, NU is lower ranked than other good universities because most most students graduate in 4.5 or 5 years (which naturally but unfortunately often alters the ranking formula factor of students who are measured/expected to graduate in 4 years). Northeastern University far exceeds anyone's high expectations, even with all the 'buzz' over the past decade or so. I am also a graduate of two other universities and worked for another.
